The holiday season is almost here, and we’re so excited to kick it off with one of our faves— Thanksgiving. Let’s be real, while Thanksgiving day itself is usually about eating as much Turkey (or tofuturkey!) as possible, the whole month of November tends to have a very giving and warm spirit. It’s a month to remember what we’re thankful for and how we got to where we are. Without further ado, here are a few things that we are thankful for this holiday season!
Okay, you might think the dome BEAUTY team has a bit of a caffeine problem based on how many times we’ve mentioned coffee these past few months, but I promise we’re okay! It’s just that as basic as it might sound, the seasonal drinks coffee shops come up with are some of the greatest things we’ve ever tasted. Pumpkin spice lattes, peppermint mochas, even a hot peppermint matcha latte with a dash of vanilla will do the trick. There’s just something about those drinks combined with crunchy leaves and knit scarves that leaves us feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
We know you guys don’t need another reminder, but this year truly has been like no other. Between a global pandemic, the election, and anything else life as personally thrown our ways, we were able to find comfort in our families. It’s funny how sometimes when things are most accessible to us, we appreciate them the least. But when some of us were quarantined away from families or weren’t able to see them for months, we realized just how much they mean to us. It’s important to realize what helps keep you grounded and feel loved, and that can certainly be different for everyone. The events of this year made us feel more grateful and thankful for the loved ones in our lives.
You know when you’re having a bad day or just feel like you’re about to burst into tears and then a cute little face plops up beside you and nudges you with their cute tiny paw? Instant serotonin boost. Through these trying times, our pets have always been at our side through the good and the bad. And sometimes hugging your dog or cat can fix any mood you’re in, because you know they are filled with infinite love for you and you’re their whole world. Pets are known to relieve anxiety and bring happiness, and they’ve certainly done a fair share of mood lifting this year. A personal fave? When your cat purrs on your chest to “protect” you because it knows you are feeling sad. Instant mood lift.
We may run a company ourselves, but that doesn’t mean we don’t like to shop! In fact, we actually love to shop. Maybe a little too much… But that’s a story for another day! All the end of season and holiday sales have made our midnight google search wandering a lot more entertaining, even if it’s just window shopping. Or should we call it browser shopping if it’s online? Either way, theres been an abundance of sales going on right now, and whether it’s to buy gifts for ourselves or for others, who doesn’t love saving a ton of money on something you probably were going to buy either way?
Pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint mochas aside, what we are the most thankful for is and always will be our customers. As a brand based around inclusivity and solidarity, our customers reflect what we stand for. dome BEAUTY is made for people of all genders, ages, sexualities, ethnicities and abilities. When we see you guys tag us in your photos on instagram or send us a message about how much you love a certain product, it makes our day. Without sounding too sappy, it genuinely is so so cool to see people of all different backgrounds trying and loving the same makeup products we produce. That was our goal! To create makeup that doesn’t leave anyone out, and you guys continuously show us with your talent and creativity why this solidarity we strive for is so important in the beauty industry.
